A Junk label is not a census of complaints.

Answer A Junk label is not a census of complaints. RFC 6154 describes IMAP special-use mailboxes, including a way to mark a mailbox as Junk. A label on a folder is not a complaint rate. The document is RFC 6154, titled IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use Mailboxes. That is a fact about mail software. It is not a solo ad price, a rank, or proof that a stranger opted in.

A label is not a census.

The note that started this: RFC 6154, IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use Mailboxes, RFC 6154.

A rented send is one letter to someone else's list. Somewhere in a mail program, a folder can be marked Junk. That mark is a label on a mailbox. It does not count people who complained, and it does not say how those people felt about your offer. A seller who slides a folder name across the desk and calls it a complaint record is handing you a label. Take the label as a label. Ask what, if anything, was actually counted.

A page about solo ad pricing will not turn that label into a rate you can pay against. RFC 6154 does not set a solo ad price. If the quote gets softer because the seller says the mail is not in a Junk mailbox, or harder because it is, you are letting a folder mark edit the order. Put the price back on the letter and the list. The special-use mark can stay in the mail software, where it belongs.

What is a Junk label?

RFC 6154 describes IMAP special-use mailboxes, including a way to mark a mailbox as Junk. A label on a folder is not a complaint rate.

Special-use is a way to say what a mailbox is for. Junk is one such mark. The mark sits on the folder. It is not a tally of complaints, and it is not a report from each person who received the letter. You can learn that a client has a place it calls Junk. You cannot learn, from that fact alone, whether anyone objected to the send you bought.

Buyers who import the word Junk into the refund line will argue about a folder instead of about the list. Sellers who export the word as a census will defend a label as if it were a poll. Both are using mail software as a stand-in for a record they do not have. If you do not have a complaint record, say so. Do not borrow the folder's name and pretend the borrowing was a measurement.

Is a Junk label a census of complaints?

No. A Junk label is not a census of complaints. The document is RFC 6154, titled IMAP LIST Extension for Special-Use Mailboxes. That is a fact about mail software. It is not a solo ad price, a rank, or proof that a stranger opted in.

It will not rank you against another sender, and it will not prove the list wanted the letter. A clean-sounding folder is not a rank. A folder called Junk is not a scandal by itself, and it is not a verdict you can invoice. The people, if you need to talk about them, are the list you name on the order. The document does not know that list.

If you sell solo ads, do not promise a complaint picture you drew from a special-use label. Promise the send you can actually describe: this letter, this list, this sending domain. Write the refund line for a miss on those, not for the presence or absence of a Junk mark. A buyer who asks about complaints deserves an honest limit. The limit is that a folder label is not that census.

What does the buyer write before paying?

A buyer still has to name the list, the sending domain, and the refund line on the order. A folder label does not do that work.

Write the list so you know whose readers were intended. Write the sending domain so you know who mailed. Write the refund line so a disappointing log has a sentence to stand on. A Junk label cannot supply any of the three. If the seller leads with the folder and will not name the domain, you are not looking at a finished order. You are looking at a mailbox feature.

When you compare best solo ad vendors, ask how they talk about Junk. The careful answer is that a label is not a census. The document is a fact about mail software. It is not the price, not the rank, and not proof a stranger opted in. Name the list, the domain, and the refund line anyway.
